New Extended Battery and Cover coming soon?

Was just rolling through the official t-mobile G1 forums and found this post by a mod over there - http://forums.t-mobile.com/tmbl/board/message?board.id=87&view=by_date_ascending&message.id=26609#M26609

I know he isn't an employee, but still.

Don't know if it is legit, but it would be a great customer service move on t-mobile's part if it is. I personally wouldn't mind a slightly thicker battery cover if it is worth it.

What do you guys think?

if its a 2000mah, and it keeps the flow of the phone, then I'd consider it, also price wise.

i bought one a couple days ago off ebay, it came this morning, the battery is basically twice as thick, if not a little more, with a cover to accomodate it, does make the whole thing quite chunky, but i think i'll be able to get used to it

I would rather have a backup battery that I carried in my purse, rather than having a thicker handset to talk and text with... but I'm still lasting through a work day plus a few hours on the one battery I have, so I don't think I would buy it.

Yes, after all is said and done, nothing beats the convenience of toting around a spare battery. I have one in my pocket now, and am practically running rampant with usage these days. Oddly enough, I've not actually had to use it yet, but I swop between the two every week anyway

The first link is dead. I think I know which one it might be, but get the right link in there for the sake of having asking a question properly.

What my question has always been is does the replacement cover that comes with it have the holes for the speaker? In the working link, the ebay link, I cannot tell from the picture if the holes for the speaker are there. Maybe if you emailed the seller they would tell you. That would be good information for all!
