i just got 2 new batteries from daydeal.com. i immediately put one in my phone and plugged it in. the phone is off while charging through a wall charger. it's been over an hour and the thing is barely warm. just checked again, it's not even warm at all. unlike the original which came with my g1. that could be good or bad. i also have the back cover off, but i doubt that's what makes the original get hot. i'll post results tomorrow after i abuse my g1 at work all day. i'm gonna leave it charging for about 7 hours, till 1 am. thats when i have to hit the sack. or should i leave it charge till i get up at 7? that would be 13 hours charge. what do you all think? i just want to post real results with this spare.

13 hours is good enough, what's the mAh rating on the batteries?

1050. i don't expect miracles. i just wanted a decent backup for those times when i'm gone all day. i hate carrying around the aa battery emergency charger. if it gets me another 4 or 5 hours of use, i'd be satisfied. is it ok to post a link to the site here where i bought them? i wouldn't do it till after i review\test them first. they were 25 bucks a piece.

yeah that's smart to do.. I think you'll find this very useful.

Is there a way to charge the other battery while one is in use??

and is the one you just bought an extended battery or just an alternate?

it's not an extended battery. i'd never pay 60 bucks for a friggin battery unless it made me coffee in the morning. and greeted me,lol. like i said, there are those times when i'm gone all day. yes, there are plugs at friends houses etc... but what a drag being tied down to a wire,ya know? i'd rather just have a spare handy at times. plus, i live in lake effect snow area. you never know when power is gonna go out. like last night, lol. about 3am it went out. i was like oh no! i only had 15 % left on my battery. luckily power was restored within half hour.

the battery cover being off could have EVERYTHING to do with it not heating up.....

i've been super busy. sorry for taking so long. as stated, it's simply a replacement battery. so far,the only real test i got to give it was in sub zero conditions at work, lol. not exactly ideal test conditions. my phone was with me at work all day last week while i worked outside,i do construction. and i had the spare in it, but it was freezing out. so i don't want to go off that as a way to judge it. but it did hold up throughout my workday with normal usage. no heavy video watching . just text and a little surfing on my break. obviously being less mah it's not going to last as long. but i'd say in a pinch, it does what i needed it to do. i'm gonna get the seido fatass battery with the big back door. i dont care if it makes my cell bigger. i need juice. on another note,i also ordered the mirror screen protectors from daydeal. do not buy them. they left the screen looking like a friggin hologram. seriously. maybe if it was on longer and cured,it might have looked better. but i doubt it. and it was so bad i didn't want to look at it for longer than a minute. i got two of them. when i get time,i cut one to fit my tytn and let it sit on there for a day or two and see if the quality improves. but i'd say don't waste your money. i was hoping they would look cool, and they did. until i turned on the phone.

ebay has stanadlone chargers for about 3 bucks for the battery only charger.... this way you can charge both batteries at the same time. I ordered 2 since I'm gonna have like 3 more batteries coming in the mail, plus the oem battery and a backup battery I ordered from handhelditems.com
