Okay, I'm saving up to get the new G1, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to get it. I currently have a Sidekick Slide. I just want to be prepared to know what to do when I get it.

Here's the background for me and my phone. My father and me share a family plan for T-Mobile. It's myFaves for families 1200 and the sidekick unlimited plan. Will I still get the myFaves between me and my father (By the way, he has a slide too) and change the the data plan for the G1, right?

And will I have the same number, as long as I put the Sim card in right? I may have some other questions as I remember them, but help now is greatly appreciated. :)

The only thing you need to change is the Data plan, $24.99 with 400 text or $34.99 unlimited data/text

And that will be added on top of your Myfaves plan, then slip your current SIM card in and sync your contacts

Make sure you add the Data plan and Gmail account, two or so days before you get the phone it's needed before activation

make a gmail acct now, and put all of your contacts on there now before you get the phone... this will save you a lot of time. and you will def need to go with the unlimited msg option.

Yup, all you need to do is replace the sidekick data plan with the G1 data plan. Slip in your SIM into the G1, and you're good to go.

Also, if you don't have some ridiculous number of contacts, it would be a good idea to make a gmail account, and put all of the contacts on your phone online to the gmail contact list. That way, when you activate your G1, your contacts will automatically by synced to your G1, and any contact you enter on your G1 will be online also.

I didn't need to enter my contacts onto my gmail. I just put in my sim and it automatically loaded into my Gmail contacts for me.

Alright then, it probably takes it from the t-mobile contacts, and then uploads it to the google contacts then.. but then again, you can also import your contacts from your sim....
