In a dilemma. I want to try out one of the rubberized hard cases for my G1. It is the red case that also goes around the buttons. Would it be wise to get this case and a screen only film from invisible shield, or should I just get a complete bestskinsever film?

If you haven't put on a full body screen protector before, I'd get the hard case because it's a pain in the ass to get it right.

I tried the rubberized hard case but didn't really like it. Made the phone really bulky. It also raised the edge of the screen so when you swipe across you hit the case. Pretty annoying. The texture feels good though, pretty much like the battery case texture. You could probably go to any cell phone accessory kiosk at the local mall and try one out. The cases are only 5 dollars shipped on ebay

I got the plastic one that they sell in the tmo stores and it's alright but makes the phone really bulky.

i've seen the plastic cases in person and it made the phone look like a cheap knockoff device you would pick up at the swap meet.

I saw the plastic rubberized and regular cases. They were ugly.Had all the white exposed with the red. Terrible craftsmanship. I am gonna try the one I found online b/c it looks a lot better plus the whole thing is colored. Im not really worried about the bulky-ness, I am used to thick flip phones so the G1 is nothing.

Once I get it in and my screen protector I will get back to you al with pictures and thoughts.

I had the same experience as above. Used it for about two or three weeks took it off and I like my phone much better now. They are just too bulky to an already bulky phone. The edges get in the way and mine started to rub off the coating and is starting to look like ****. I think it makes the phone feel cheap.
