This thing is one beutiful looking phone. Its the iphone mix with the g1 all in one . This is a sure to be my phone. The price tag is a little pricy but it might be all worth it. O and it has a 5mp camera , that is one feature to win me over. Now fanboys attack.

O and one more thing. Something weird was happing as I was typeing this thread with my g1 . I received a missed call but my phone was still vibrating. So I tried every to turn it off but nothing would work. So I had to restart it.Then it worked but then I got a phone call but none of my buttons would work then after the call, everything went back to normal .weird Has this happen to anyone elese?

all nokia phones blow
Why?
Maybe because you only shopped only the "free-$30.00" Nokia lineup? I cant think of anything bad about any of the N series devices...they are awesome to say the least.
Like any device...you get what you pay for

yeah hope that works out well for you. I worry about the G1 screen breaking but I fear that screen would just flip off
Wow thats the price of a freaking laptop
No thanks

That's what everybody thinks, but if you look under the screen, its arc is limited by a steel pin mounted in the screen and chassis of the phone. If anything, the mechanism is way too sprung. However--I don't think it's going anywhere.
While I agree the N97 is no doubt a powerful device, it's got too powerful a price. I like the looks of the N96 better, btw. Unfortunately, neither phone is gonna work out of the box with Tmo's 3G.

There are two things that I don't like about that phone. First off the resistive touch screen, and second the weird 3 row keyboard. I'm not even that big on 4 row keyboards cause you have to hit function/shift keys in order to get any numbers.

I was watching some videos about this phone on youtube and it seems to me that the keyboard does not have light.

rrrrrrraaaAAAARRRRRaaarr!
NOT interested.
At those who thought the cheap nokias were crap. Wow, you must have missed out on the indestructible 6010s. Anyways, the G1 looks better and probably feels better. That keyboard looks way too cramped.
I will have to agree and say that keyboard is very cramped looking. If we weren't in a recession.... I'd buy that thing... The OS looks pretty amazing. I love my G1 and I'm not going to trade it out, but I'd reaaaalllly like a hands on demo with that N97.
For $700 tho? That's two months rent in Cleveland, or 100 short in the east bay. Christ! Does it cook too?!

Symbian stinks. Android is much better.
Also N97 is a resistive touch screen not capacitive like G1/Iphone. Means scrolling is much harder and not as intuitive (Think windows mobile phones).

The n97 does look nice, but even if it were cheaper I think i'd rather have the g1. I had an E90 for a short while and know the quality that nokia is capable of, but I just can't get excited about an S60 device with a touch screen slapped on it, not to mention a resistive screen. I agree about the keyboard, a 3 row design is extremely odd and can't work very well. If this goes like most of nokia's other top phones you will have to buy unlocked for a huge price. Nice looking device, but not worth it IMO and I think it will fall short of expectations

Im Not gonna front that phone LOOKs GOOD lol...but my pockets dont think the price is right. So Ill Pass also. All HTC phones act the same way after awhile. I dont know why that happen.

all barnicles that blows that it's a resistive touch screen. That's a major drawback for me but it still looks delicious.

Looking good - I am still not paying $700 for the PHONE - do not forget guys - this is just a phone... For this price I can get a laptop and 2 T-Mobile G1s :)

it's not a phone.....it's a mini computer in your pocket. The phone is just a added feature.

They put all those nice features into it, and then used a resistive touch screen!? Not the end of the world, just thought after all those nice features they'd go all out with a capacitive touch screen....All in all sounds like a nice phone... i guess.

While I admit, it is a sweet looking phone, I am still sticking with my G1. I would love to be able to have my weather show up on my main screen though.

That'll come in the future when widgets are open to developers (which Google says will come sometime in the future).
Phone does look nice though, has 32GB (!) onboard and microSD slot to add 16gb more.

I know WTF were they thinking ? The phone would be close to perfect from the look if it had cap touch. But the plus with the res touch Is that we can use gloves . So now when it's freezing we will still be able to use gloves unlike the g1 and iPhone.

I will not argue that - the phone is added optional function - however - would you buy this device if there was no phone function on it? I bet NO - so - it is the phone that draws most of the buyers to buy it...

Hee hee, still sticking with my G1. I don't use gloves very often here in Florida. :D:D:D:D

The reason they use resistive is for text input for the Asian market.

I would agree with a that... Nokia's are mobile media centers and phones afterwards. With it being +700 I could keep my G1 and by a new dell laptop :p or an iphone.
Edit: And resistive touch sucks!!!!

Haha about the gloves. thats what the scroll wheel and physical keyboard are for, though typing on the G1 with gloves would be hard, but it would be hard on any other device as well, especially with the cramped keyboard of the nokia, When i first saw it though my jaw did drop because it does look very sexy! would consider if it had 5 row keyboard.... G1 spoiled me :)

N97 retails for $700 .... not even the same league as iphone and G1. Compare it to Sony x1 which is $800 or HTC touch which is ~$600 i think. that would at least make sense. Its like saying eff the toyota camry.. hello Ferrari F430 ..

That looks like a nifty phone, however I still like the G1.
But i bet your battery will last u longer.. lol :P
