thats nothing....This morning I charged my cell to a 100% listen 4 songs while taking a shower n it went down to 88% i was like wtf so i went to work n put my car charger it charged 95% i got there at 7am n by 10am by battery was at 2%

Thats is bulls#it...while my friend was still on his iphone surfing the internet from 7am till 2pm!!

I hate this so bad!!!!!! Hopefully they fix this...but for now im taking my chrger to work!!!!

try a factory reset, i heard that helps some people. mine lasts longer than that with everything turned on.

not the stuff that's synced to your gmail account, such as contacts.

at this early stage in g1, there really shouldn't be anything that's not recoverable if you do a factory reset. all the programs that you downloaded from the market can be downloaded again in less than 10 minutes.

one thing I can say for sure is that 99% can be much further away from 100% charged than 1%!

the second is that "conditioning" my battery has helped quite a bit.

haha. I read on another thread that our RF unit (the radio) is a relatively old/inefficient unit compared to the rest of the chipset. I've found that what drains the battery the quickest are: 1) Constant communication 2) Screen on constantly followed by 3) Heavy speaker use.

So streaming movies nonstop kills my battery in 2-3 hours. Playing a movie from the SD card takes 3 and playing music nonstop from the card -- well, it must take over four cuz I did it all morning at work till lunch and it went down to about 29%. I've found that especially under RC30, 30%-15% (when the phone starts screaming to be recharged) is much deeper than 70-30%. I don't know why this is . . . whether it's the battery or the calculation algorithm or what.

Anyhow, that's my experience.

P.S. Green LED while on the charger comes on at 90% . . . so don't think the green light means go!
