help with manual update

i have been searching the forums and google but im not sure how to get to the "root" of my SD card. when i connect my g1 to my pc i click open to view folders, then it brings up two file folders titled: data and dcim. i have opened up both and i see nothing about my SD card. please help me!

That IS the root of your SD. Just plop the update.zip into that first folder.

the root folder is the main one, without going into any other folders as soon as you open the drive assigned to your G1. put the update file there, rename it to "update" without anything else.. no .zip or anything just the word by itself. and thats it. unplug the phone from the computer and start the update process by following the directions.

That depends on settings. If it complains, just add the .zip.
