Is it just me.. or does the battery charge really quickly?

I feel like if I'm at 15% I can get back to 100% in an hour or so...


Seems to charge a lot faster than my previous htc phone. Which is a good thing since the G1 can be a battery hog if you're browsing frequently or have 3g, GPS, and Autosync running.

yea it does, it charges even faster if the phone is completely off, I for one is glad, my old w700i would take about 2 hours for a decent full charge.

Ya faster than my MDA. Plugged into my PC it maybe takes an hour and a half for a full charge from 3% or so. AC adaptor maybe an hour for a full charge

Also, is it just me or is the bottom back of the phone suppose to get hot...?

mine takes a few hours to charge. I charge at least once a day and also overnight. these things eat up the battery

Mine charges quicker than any cell phone I've owned, even quick when charging from my portable Turbo charge, which runs off 2 AA rechargeable batts.

FYI, the t-mobile store (at least the one by me) has the P790 on clearance for $19.99!!!

Just picked one up today for my G1...I've done a lot of research (even looked at making my own with an altoids can) and the P790 (specially at that price) is pretty sweet.

Yeah, no keychain.. and its pretty clunky.. but great to keep in your backpack or a pants pocket in a pinch. Sadly, I use it almost daily when I have a 10 hour day at school.

I remember someone posted a thread about charging the phone with 2 AA with an Altoids box. Anyways, it charges faster since the charger gives off a higher voltage.
