connect usb

I have had my g1 for abt a week now. But I can get to see my sd card info on it. The option that suggests you connect usb to pc or whatever doesn't for whatever reasons show on my phone. Can someone help please?

well depends on a lot of things. sometimes unmounting and remounting the sdcard from the settings menu works. also, if u dont have the correct permissions on the computer ur using u wont see anything. like at work i have no permisions so when i plug in my usb it only charges my phone, cant see the sd or anything. but when i go home it works like a charm.

What exactly do you see when you connect it? No error messages or pop ups at all? Anything change in the system tray or on the task bar?

Thanks man, but you knw on the quick manual that come with the phone it tells you on the phone that sort option has to appear the moment sd card is inserted. I can only sd card, unmount/eject sd card.

I can still save stuff on card via my laptop by dragging to sdcard. But can't copy anything from phone memory to sdcard, is it something familiar?

Usb connection prompts on screen of laptop as recognition but then hv to go to my computer to click on removal drive in order ot save stuff on sd card

I'm sorry, I'm trying to help you, but I really don't understand what the problem is. How is it that you have to "remove the drive" before you can save to it??? But even if that was the case, you *ARE* able to save stuff to the card, right? I'm sorry, I'm just not following you. Maybe try to give us more detail? Plug the phone in and write down exactly what you see, what options you have and what you have tried.

Hey, I have the same problem. Maybe I can explaine it better. I already unmounted the sd card and it didnt work. My computer recognizes the phone after i connect it with usb, i know this because in control panel/system/hardware/device manager/ phone is there, but when i double click the f: drive its empty.. it tells me to connect the device...mind you the phone tells me that im connected and its charging. thanx

if you're using a windows computer goto Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer Management / Disk management and make sure its mapped to a drive letter also.

The quick guide that came with the phone does not have the latest info. Under the recent firmware, the behavior changed. When you plug in your phone to the computer's USB port, you'll now see an icon show up on your phone's notification bar, drag it down, it will say USB connected, click on it, you will see whether to mount or not. Select Mount, and the phone's SD card will show up on your computer as a drive.

You don't need to unmount the SD card from the phone before you plug the phone into your computer's USB port. Just make sure you follow the notification bar's USB icon, and mount the SD card as a drive so your computer can see it.

I have a similar problem. Flashed the phone from modded rc 30 ver 1 to modded rc 30 1.2 now when I mount the sd card and double click f drive it says f: application not found. If I right click and double click open in the menu it opens the sd card.
