WTF is going on with google releasing Google Earth and now Google voice search on the iphone before their own branded phone!? Neither are that big of deal, but really, what is going on!? And on top of that, NOW, the G1 is shipping with the 3.5mm headphone jack with speaker that accepts any user headphones!

Why do I feel like I'm being kicked in the nuts!?

isn't that adapter like 5 bucks? A smile price to pay for having the phone before everybody else.

Well, I heard that T Mobile/HTC would be including an adaptor in later releases of the G1, long before the G1 came out.

They said the adaptors weren't available for early orders/launch day.

Not a biggie for me, they're on sale at eBay and other places for $5.

Would like Voice Google, however. I'm assuming we'll see it, not sure when.

T-mobile stated that they adapter would be in the second shipment they get. They've stated this before the release date and a lot of website mentioned it.

As for the other apps, think how long they've worked on it. The G1 wasn't due out till this year. Just because Google was working on it for couple of years, doesn't mean that their priority was to make apps for the G1 that wasn't a necessity. Just because it's from the same company it doesn't mean that they will release it for their product first. Different divisions, different projects, etc etc. All it means is that it will be released for the G1 sooner than it took for it to come on the iPhone. Their ultimate goal is to make money.

wrong. goal is to make money, sure, yes. but, they should release products to their phones first. google knew when the phone will be released. google knew how much time it takes to develop these for the idud/gphone. if you were google, and you WANT people to use your products (uh huh), you would promote your products first, before you promote your competitors.

anyone else read this thread because they thought it was referencing googles tumbling stock price. I have a large interest in that - so yes... please, come on google.

In regard to this thread - do you REALLY care?

Yea..making money is the purpose.. but theres one thing more important, and thats pushing your brand, If your working on something you always want it to be subjected to your product first, if not around the same time, you dont want to alienate your customers or hurt sells of something your trying to get off the ground... they should have held back and not released it on the iphone till the version for android was done...

this really disappoints me..
