I had a g1 on launch....stupid me lost it lol...got my replacement today..something funny happening though...Im attempting to put a few mp3s on it from my computer but my computer won't read the sd card...its wierd...any suggestions?

won't read the SD card? hm first of all what type, brand, memory card is it. Unmount/eject SD card ?

on mine you have to pull down the top screen on the g1 and click mount to open the folder my first one used to open up as soon as i pluged it in i think its because i tried the tethering app and it didnt work so its been that way ever since

its the stick that came w/ the phone its wierd as heck it comes up as a drive on my computer but wont open

You need to select the mount option for the Sd Card menu, or from the notification bar, depending on your RC (19 and 28-30, respectively).
