What kind of features / apps you have on your Android phone you like best that makes your G1-less friends, family, and co-workers go "oooh, ahhh"?
For me, the Video Player and the Browser are what catches the eyes of a G1-less person. I downloaded and converted a sample of 'I am Legend' and a 'Halo 3' montage and the graphics blew them away.
We should get some referral imbursement because I actually convinced a couple of people to get a G1.

The gps tracker makes alot of people smile! Why you would want anyone tracking you is a mystery but it's cool nonetheless!

actually everything. the compact size of the phone, then when i move the screen up they look at me like I discovered fire, then i touch the screen and they think I'm god (which Ninja Chuck Norris Android is), so then I pull up the browser and flip it to have wide view and they start to bow and kiss my feet. Just the other night, my neighbor tried to sacrifice his beautiful daughters in my honor. I saved them ofcourse and made them all my honorary girlfriends.

I was thinking about this too, only what would you show to a person who does have a smartphone, or more specifically, an iPhone? Please don't say something like "cut and paste". What should I show I show my buddy who has an iPhone that my phone can do that his can't?
I do think the new neocore is a good place to start. Can the iPhone do 3D graphics? yeah, it's not much for a game, but it does show off it's capabilities quite well for now.

The problem is the iPhone is much better for 3D graphics because developers can load native code on it.

Oh, I didn't know that. I'm glad I didn't go off running to him, shoving my phone into his face and saying look what my phone can do that yours can't. I'm so behind the times.
- The Market.
- The Eclipse Andy SDK plugin.
- gmote
- Invisible Shield.
- Scarlet Johanson Background.
Yea.
The turn-offs:
- Camera quality.
- "Sidekicky"

I converted my ex roommates to get a G1. (one is a Blackberry user :p)
What sold them was the street view Maps,
The Market.
The fact that you can download straight to your phone.
Streaming Imeem.
and Wiki Mobile (being that we're college students).

I guess to an extent but android does have 3D graphics with OpenGL and handles it well, have you seen the game demos here (http://www.omnigsoft.com/Android/ADC/readme.html) that are made for android?

The one I always start out with is "Bubble".
I work with a bunch of engineers and we all agree that is so cool.
Then I usually show them ShopSavvy or Compare Anywhere. That usually gets some wows as well.
Then I usually show them Orienteer, and then the GPS/maps with streetview.
Then out comes the keyboard, followed by a launch of Qsearch for those who immediately go "where's the virtual keyboard?"
And finally I usually demo the browser, but that is typically not a big deal.

The power management app has to be considered among the best. Although I already turned that stuff off when not in use, it made it a lot more simple to do it.
And it's probably helping out tons of people who were not sure how to turn off some of the features that they were not using at the time.
Shazam rocks, so I got to agree!
TooDo isn't bad, but it needs work but has a lot of potential for people who use remember the milk, or Toodledo.com like me.
WeatherBug is pretty freaking cool. The advisory updates seem useful sometimes. I've been getting tons of wind advisory alerts, fog alerts, etc. And they have all been dead on so far.
Imeem is a great player. Although I perfer Last.FM on my touch, Pandora radio, etc. I must admit I discovered far more underground bands I never heard before using Imeem.
Pacman, what can I say? Classic. Using the track ball makes it a lot more fun than I expected.
AK notes is pretty useful for me. I log work out routines in it, weight loss, gain, etc.
