This is likely to P*** a few people off. Feel free to vent once you have read this.

Advert in the paper today states that the G1 is now available in the UK with an 8GB SD Card if ordered online. So much for all that S*** we were old about how we we going to be treated specialy because we registered early.

i'm not too angry. mine cost like $20 -- it would have been nice to get, but you know that for a $20 card they would have increased the price by $50

have you seen the prices of cards at the T-mobile store??! talk about preying on the non-educated consumer.

I saw this on the T-Mobile site yesterday, and figured that it might be a bit of a slap in the face. On the other hand, 8Gb cards can be had for under £14 now (including the postage) so it's a bit poor as an incentive - the only places selling memory for the kind of prices that the networks charge are in the high street.
And even if people didn't take advantage of the pre-registering, which basically told you to join the ruddy queue or check online - when they didn't update the site in time, the slap in the face came much earlier than the new card offer for some.
Perhaps T-Mobile are gearing up for the launch of the Amazon MP3 service?

Hi, I'm a new member in Southern California, and I just got the G1 last week off ebay. Love the phone btw! So it seems an 8GB micro sd card will work fine with our phone? Where does it install?

I got my G1 early-ish December. When I was in the T-Mobile shop the guy was like "I will throw in an 8GB SD card for you", I went home and it was supposed to come with the 8GB SD card anyway. Cheeky bastard.

Anyway my point is, hasn't it always come with an 8GB SD card in the UK?

I think that depends on when you buy it and from which store - I got mine last week from a T-mobile shop with a 2GB card pre-installed (as it says on the box). £20/month contract, £50 for the G1 so I wasn't complaining: I'm waiting for the 32GB micro SD cards anyway ;)
