How much do these things actually charge? If you have a G1 at absolute 0%, and charge it with a 1.5V AA batter (regular), how much of the battery do you think it would charge? Actual % charge, not what the G1 might tell you it has ;)

I had one -- useful on long flights with my N800 when playing back movies, but on the G1, I had one of these plugged in while online with Wifi and it seems that the drain is higher than the charge rate.

so what if i used it purely as an emergency-type situation, my G1 died at 0%, and I plugged this in. Could it last, say, 6 hours more, completely on standby?

I had it plugged in for 1 hour after the battery went dead and the G1 refused to fire up, and it still wouldn't fire up until after I had it plugged to an AC power source
