Does anyone know if the 3G data plan uses a different APN from the default unlimited data plan (wap.voicestream.com)? If not, wouldn't someone with the $19.99 plan be able to use the same SIM in a G1 and get 3G data?
After reading what another member posted in a different thread, that he was able to pre-order the phone without selecting a dataplan this makes me think that someone with a family plan that has, say $9.99 unlimited messaging for the family would be able to simply keep the $19.99 unlimited internet for smartphones and not have to pay the $35 (essentially paying for unlimited messaging twice).
I guess it all comes down to what APN the device uses and whether wap.voicestream.com will be limited to EDGE/GPRS and they will create a new APN for 3G data or whether it will be the same APN.
