please g1 google activation help!...

hi there, i buy a g1 in MA and want to use in spain with movistar, after unlock the phone i have serious problems wit the google mail activation, thats not work...

i wondered if anyone know how i can to activate the phone without google activation, after i thing that google make things very dificult because i can not to use my g1 if i do not to complete google activation...

i like very much the g1 but i dont understand how google make this very bad...

you have to make sure you are using the right APN settings for the carrier you are on.

Thanks for the response. I, too, am going through this same dilemma.

How do I get to the settings menu to set up the correct APN if I cannot proceed after google's activation? Please advise.

Sorry for the late reply, but here's what you need to do:

At the screen where you are prompted for your Gmail login info, press the Menu button. A menu for New APN will come up. Select it, and in the following screens enter your APN name (you can get this from your existing phone, assuming you have a data plan active with your carrier, or you can call your carrier for it). Save that APN, and then go back to enter your Gmail credentials

I am currently in Qatar, and I am in the same situation. I have unlocked my G1 but can't seem to activate it. I have changed the APN settings to the best of my knowledge, and I'm still getting the "problem with google servers" message. Has anyone had any luck doing this in Qatar, or does anyone have any advice on this? Thanks in advance.

I've bought a G1 from Bangladesh and use it only for 3 days. I've given a screen unlock pattern. But one of my friend gave several wrong pattern and the G1 get locked and asking for gmail account. But i dont have the original google user name and password. So I've given a reset by pressing home+power button. It again asking
for googlee account. But when ever i enter my personal gmail ID and password it shows a progress bar and ends up with connection problem. For your information I'm useing AKTEL (tm international, malayasia)

Now can i enter into programs without entering google account? How?
