Text/Email Notification

If this is posted in the wrong place, forgive me. I have been going insane looking for some hint as to how I can know that there is an email/text when the phone is 'sleep'. I've had msgs. that came in and I didn't get it until I make a call and see it in the notification menu. Here in the office I have the volume low so anything that will brighten the screen for a short time (you now we have battery issues) that would be awesome.

By the way, I FINALLY got RC30 (never got the others I see talked about) on Saturday....here in Philly area.

Your green led will flash when alerts are received.

I just glance at my phone every now and then. I keep mine on the desktop. It does light up when a call comes in, but not for messages.

Doesn't really bother me that much.... Since the led blinks.

sounds like your led is not blinking.... If you want it to blink there is a setting for this.

Open the messaging application -> menu ->settings->Check the box that says Notification

That will send an SMS and MMS notification to your phone witch will make it blink green. There is the same type of setting in the email application also. So just goto settings there to.

there is also an APP in the marketplace that lights up your screen for a set amount of time. you set the amount of time it lights up for.
