View Full Version : Ringdroid ringtones are 15 seconds long, but play in 1/2 second

Any ringtone that I make via Ringdroid is 15-30 seconds long, but the entire ringtone plays in about 1/2 second. The music used plays fine in the Music app. However, it's duration/length is shown as MUCH MUCH shorter in Windows Media Player (a 3 minute long song could show as 20 seconds long). Can anyone suggest a fix here? What's wrong with my music, bitrate, or other?

Windows Media Player? You mean you mounted the SD card on your PC and played it there, right?
I don't see how this could be an issue if it plays fine on the phone. Try having someone call you, and if the ringtone works, well, it works.
I'm not sure exactly how Ringdroid encodes its tones, but if it works on your phone, that's what counts. Unless it's the original MP3 that got corrupted somehow.
Or perhaps I'm misinterpreting the situation completely.

I transferred it to my SD from WMP. WMP reads the duration wrong. And when people call me, same error - it plays the entire ringtone in 1/2 second.
I tried audiko.net, with the same files, and it can't figure out where i tell it to start and stop the ringtone - it always goes back to the beginning of the song.
I think it's my original files. Is there anyway to convert or similar my files that I have now to make them work? Heres an example file that won't work:

you should try doing your ringtones the same way i do them and they work fine download a program called goldwave just drag the song and pick the section its almost the same as ringroid but you could make the ringtones louder
