Where are the Basics?? !!!!!

I was pretty bummed when I found out there was no:

1. video recorder
2. Flash Player
3. voice recorder
4. sync to outlook. (my g1 isn't even rocognized when i plug it into vista or XP....it says no drive in f: ??))

If anybody has any good apps for any of this stuff that would be rad....

If you have the RC30 update, your phone should beep when you plug it into the computer. Pull down the notification bar and click "Mount" so the SD card can be seen on your computer.

As far as the sync to outlook... i forget what I used but there is an App in the store that'll grab your contacts. I'm not 100% on messages and all that. It's called Funambol Contacts Sync - they say they are going to be adding more to it

First off, welcome to the Community! Secondly don't be bummed because all of those issues are being addressed as we speak. The sd card needs to be mounted. Go into settings>sd card and storage>use for mass storage if the first solution posted above doesn't work for you. Have fun with your G1 and may i I suggest reading the {a and previous posts to find your answers.

There is a voice recorder and the ability to sync with outlook, which can be found in the marketplace. A flash player is not a basic feature of a phone, support for flash barely came out. And even then is still in beta in browsers such as skyfire. Video recording should come in the next SDK, along with the ability to have a native on screen virtual keyboard.
