Yeah, it happens to me from time to time. Usually only when I exit the browser in the middle of it loading a webpage, or if I have multiple windows open or whatever - but even then, it's not every time that those scenarios exist... the delay is rare for me.

I'm sure there is no way "you" can fix this... If it is a bug with the browser, it'd have to be fixed via OTA updates.

Yea that's how it was for me time to time, but recently its been doing this every time I exit the browser, even if its not in the middle of loading, hopefully they will release a fix for this.

Yeah that is a bit of a Hickup on androids part there i believe, i dont get it all the time. but i get it especially when surfing Grapically intense Websites or with multi windows open. it doesnt go for as long as 20sec tho. the most ive witnessed on my phone. lag wise, is approx 5-8 seconds max !

If it becomes an issue for many people. im sure google will sort it out, they are listening to their Users, take for instance the Virtual keyboard everyone wants. they are making that, im sure they will iron all of the bugs out soon :D

Yeah, my lag is usually around 3 to 5 seconds. Are you exaggerating about the 20 seconds? If not, and it is consistently 20 seconds, I would get a replacement because that would drive me up the wall.

i've seen this too, occasionally.

i get the 2-3 second pause, and then slow phone syndrome for several additional seconds, maybe 10 or so. maybe thats what he means.

yeah same as others have said less than 10 sec lag and only if i overuse the browser
more than 2-3 windows open
on a big webpage
or try to exit via home button while loading a page

It seems to me it may be caused by low cache space on the phone (phone storage) or low ram on the phone due to leaving some apps running in the background + the browser running

i would try to reboot the phone then try the browser i bet it works alot better exiting if it doesnt check you space left on the phone

also another thing i have noticed, i know they say you cant close apps but i think you can, using the back button, if you press the home button apps clearly stay running in the background because if you go back to them they are right there where you left them, if you hit back to exit them they stop doing whatever they were doing and when you start them back up they start just like the first time you ran them and leaving apps running in the background depending on what the app does can not only kill your battery faster, but also slow down the phone if you use the browser as well so give that a try when you use your phone next time

Yeah, I have this problem too. All the time. I'll try the back button solution that someone mentioned. Still, this is a problem because I don't want to close the web page most of the time.

The lag I see is usually 5-10 seconds. It's annoying, makes the OS look buggy. If I was showing this phone to someone who had an iphone and that happened I'd be pretty embarrased and I know they'd be all smug. Ewww those iphone people love to get their smug on. :)

Iphone users have the same issue I believe. If iphone users browse a website that takes up a lot of memory, the launcher has to be removed from ram and then loaded back up.

What version of the firmware are you on, with my admittedly brief time with RC9 (EU RC33 Equiv) this lag seems to have gone.

Also I wouldn't worry about the Iphone, I was playing on my friends iPOD touch and unless the iphone is different I think the google phone browser is much better.

The scrolling wasn't any smoother on the touch, and when you zoom the intermediate animation is a resized bitmap after which it triggers the page to be re-rendered briefly. Also when you scroll down or across a page quickly you end up with a cross hatched tile background like you would on google maps while it renders that section of the page.

The G1s browser zooming is far more ellegant IMHO. I don't deny that some other things on the iphone are more slick, but the browser doesn't seem to be one of them.

lag is still there with rc33. I don't think there is much that can be done. There's only a limited amount of RAM on these phones.
