It says it uses SyncML, which I beleive is something other than the google address book. Am I correct here that this will uses a contact list separate from the google contact list?

Althogh it has been said so many times. As soon as they can charge in the Market we will get a lot of cool apps. I guess then we will all just hear how it should be free :)
I personally will pay if it is a good app with good support.

As for this Phonebook 2.0 I can hardly wait.

I looks like they decided to make this a carrier direct solution. So, T-Mobile would have to buy it and give, or sell, it to us. I hope that they change their mind. This is one that I have been waiting for ever since Google I/O back in May.

I like how it shows your contacts on the map. Is that their location based off GPS or their physical address?

I'd hope address so I can visit because knowing exactly where they are at all times would be kinda stalkerish.

Especially since they received that fat check from Google for winning the developer challenge. You would hope they'd release the Android version for free and then offer up the other versions as they mention on their site - to carriers.

I've e-mailed asking but I haven't received a response. Has anyone else heard from them?

This looks like a gorgeous solution. I love the flickr integration. I've got tons of friends with facebook, it would be insane to see their facebook status on their contact page. Can you imagine that?

On the bright side, that should prevent that pesky Planet X from destroying us.
