been lurking for a while. never post.

but what exactly is a hard reset and a soft reset?

i'm assuming a hard is the factory reset which clears everything off the phone and a soft is just turning it off and back on.... but not sure.

also, i put a bunch of songs on my sd card, and when i go into ringdroid to make me some crap, most of the songs show up as ~3 second clips from the start of the song. what did i **** up this time?

ps - i got my phone with the initial pre-order, and my screen doesn't creak and nothing seems loose on it. guess i'm just lucky :D

A hard reset restores the phone back to factory condition. You'll have to re-run the initial setup.

Hard reset -
1. Turn off phone
2. Power on phone holding the Home & Power/End buttons at the same time until you see the "Triangle" symbol.
3. Open the keyboard and hit Alt W

hard reset is clearing all the data off your phone and restarting from scratch. soft reset is just turnin on and off your phone. As far as ringdroid, adjust the intervals of the start and stop time ;)

tard-fart, yes!

thanks for the responses. just was wondering, but that's pretty much what i thought.

with ringdroid, i know how it works. i have songs that i've messed with and created rings/notifications from. it's not the interval selected, only a few seconds of the song comes up when i select it to play with. the ones i played with before had the entire song there for me to dissect. only the beginning shows up on the other ones. i transfered full songs over, but they don't show up as full songs... i probably botched something somewhere...
