PhoneFusion announced today an upcoming Fusion Voicemail Plus app that will bring visual voicemail to the T-Mobile G1 handset. The app will let G1 users centralize their voicemail boxes in one place, and allow them to visualize voicemail messages right on their screen.
Louis Libin, CEO of PhoneFusion commented:
“Our Fusion Voicemail Plus application is tremendously popular with our existing customers who wanted iPhone-type functionality on their favorite devices… With the launch of T-Mobile’s G1, the first Android-powered smartphone, people have been looking for an innovative visual voicemail app that runs on this breakthrough device. We believe Fusion Voicemail Plus fills this gap, giving the Android community a better way to stay connected when it matters most. We expect this application will quickly become one of the favorites on Android Market.”
The app is expected to be previewed today at the Under the Radar: Mobility Conference, taking place in Mounain View, California. Look for Fusion Voicemail plus for the G1 to appear in the Android Market by the end of this year.

Yea, my voicemail box is always (and currently) full.

I only delete 2 or 3, I hate leaving voice msgs and dont like listening to them.... Grrr

I have special ones though, always go back to listen and laugh/smile

lol, I always think visual voicemail is so cool until i realize that I rarely ever have to check my voice mail, usually only when I go through a dead zone...

I would still get this app tho...as long as it didn't have a monthly fee

I'm interested to see how this app works, because every other "visual voicemail" app I've seen for other devices isn't true voicemail. If it's like the other apps, it intercepts all missed calls and takes the message directly into the program rather than getting all voicemails from the T-Mobile network. If this is the case, you won't ever have voicemails stored on your T-Mobile account at all and will only be able to hear/store them on your G1. This would also mean that it would not work when out of service, like the dead zone situation Fare mentioned. If you have no signal then the phone never sees the call and this "visual voicemail" can never intercept the call to get the message.

Its not a bad idea for an app, but it doesn't really match up to At&t's implementation that works directly with their network to get visual voicemails

I downloaded this a while back. Then it disappeared. I couldn't find updates or anything. I think it was just in the Market by accident.

Started playing with this yesterday with my SK.

I think its pretty cool personally. Keeps a record of all your voicemails and even stores the voicemail online.

I posted this too on another thread - I'm in the UK and can't seem to find it in the market at all. I wasn't aware the marketplace was region specific.
