So am I. I am actually eligible for a full discount in 11 days. Will they go through the 700k phones rumored to be available for the presale? I would be shocked if they sold nearly 70,000 phones a day online for 11 days. Will the presale go that long in the event that they do last? I really don't feel I should even have to wonder, since the phone wouldn't even reach me until nearly 3 weeks after my eligibility for full discount begins. I have been cursed with an assortment of motorolas that have had hardware failures consistently. I have been holding out with a phone that freezes when I get to the text screen for months so I could get this thing @ a presale price predicting it would be around my time for upgrade. Here it is. So close. There has to be other people in this situation.....

Being that you are within 30 days of an upgrade, you should be able to upgrade at the full discount...I believe you can get the full discount during the last month before your contract is up.

I have a Blackberry Pearl 2.9 and I am thinking about switching as well with full discount when I am eligible in 24 days. I am not worried cuz there is no way they will sell that many that soon, It's not like were talking about the Wii

wow pete nice find. i can't believe i never saw that post. getting a rep that will venture as far into unknown territory as his rep did seems like a bit of a long shot. and then getting managerial approval on a later date seems like an even longer shot. plus by the time he sends his phone back.....yeah I don't think I am going to go that route. thanks for tracking down that post though!

Actually that was my post hehe. I look at it this way. I pre-ordered it, and I will recieve it, I just will not open it. They will either take back my order and honor as I stated in my last post, they will decline and I will fold haha, or I will just cancel my tmo account and move elsewhere. I do have it posted on my notes for my account according to the rep i spoke with, I also got his full name and emlpyee i.d. to referrence. Either I get a 100 dollar break or not...its not the end of the world for me but it does leave a bad taste considering my history with tmo.

This is just F.Y.I. I've been with Tmo for like 8 years now. Anyhoo, I got an upgrade in March 08 and gave the phone to my son because he lost his. Then I just wanted to see if I qualified for the upgrade at $179, i did, and of course I ordered one . Decided to order another one 3 days later, the upgrade page said $299, I didnt order it. Then just out of pure boredom the next day, I logged into Tmo to see if I could upgrade for the $179 price, and viola, I could. So needless to say, Tmobile is the shizzle. I'm not going anywhere. And I have been waiting FOREVER for them to come out with a decent phone. I've been using Treo's for a few years now.

Exercise some patience. That would be my advice.

My situation was similar but not identical. My contract actually ends next month, so I had planned to start a new one come December or on Black Friday if there are any good deals, but it only cost me $18 extra for the upgrade. I figured the price will not be going down anytime soon for the G1- instead, due to the demand, and supply, the price may go up instead. But since I receive my phone last in this community, I will check out the reviews before I open my package...Nah- After this long wait I will open anyways... If anything craigslist will be the answer.
