G1 for ATT

I read on another post that there will be a G1 released for a European market (unknown) early in 2009 that will work on the same 3G frequencies as the US ATT 3G.

If anyone knows anything about that please let me know. I would really like a G1 that I can unlock to work on ATT (with 3G).

In Europe the Iphone is being used on T-mobile's network. I'm not surprised if its true and you shouldn't be either.

True story. At&t's 3G network is still premature compared to its European counterpart, but not as lacking as T's network. I live in Central Florida so I get ok 3G, but its SERIOUSLY spotty.
