Sorry about this but I am greatly unsatisfied with my G1, the phone itself feels cheap, I am greatly unsatisfied with a lot of things it has right now, and I might check back later on, but I really unsatisfied with it. I got it about two days ago, is there a possibility that I can return it for money back? I might come back in january or something, but right now, the G1 is not for me...

I ended up returning mine too bcuz I was very unsatisfied with it too. I am a big instant messenger user and right now it really lacks a good program for AIM and Yahoo so I returned it. But I just got it back yesterday bcuz everyone assured me that a program called "MEEBO" was made for AIm and Yahoo, but guess what? that program sucks just as bad as the regular AIM on the phone, so I might be going back to my sidekick for a while until they really do make a program that I will actually recieve me AIM's

Yes, there is a 14 day buyer's remorse period.

Thankfully, as the poster above me said, there is a 14 day grace period on the plan/phone/etc.
Aside from that, you should really, oh I don't know, try calling your goddamned phone company instead of asking a bunch of people on a forum about your phone plan. That's equivalent to asking your third grade teacher what kind of brain tumor you currently possess. Actually, maybe that analogy doesn't match up at all, but the point is that you should ask a Doctor about your brain tumor. It's interrupting my foruming.

I could call the company and wait on hold for like twenty minutes, or I can just ask the people of this forum a simple question

Anyways thanks for all the help. Has anyone who HAS returned their G1, do you know if T-Mobile pays for the shipping, like you print out a USP label or something? How long it takes or whatever?

Genius. Instead of doing your own research and figuring out things on your own, you simply assumed we would know your contact and circumstances; bothering us for an answer to your problem.
Have a chance to check on that brain tumor yet?

Returning the phone because of a IM client is a JOKE.

Yes, people who return things which do not function properly are jokes.
You are correct, sir.

Just return your guys/girls phones.
Notes:
1. Phone is great if you have patience (or can spell it).
2. Software is open-source, so ... guess what - there will probably be better programs coming out - if your getting a phone for texting, buy yourself something simpler, like a sidekick (2).
3. *cry*
4. And last but not least, the only time I've ever had to wait longer than 3 minutes was a rarity with tmobile, and I normally get a answer from customer service within the first 10 seconds of being put on hold. (which makes me sad when they play good music). So between taking 20 minutes to wait on hold - and taking a hour to make a account/write a post/post/wait for a few responses. You chose the wrong thing - since calling customer care probably would have taken less time.

They credited my account $10 to cover the cost of shipping.

i don't approve of this post... use the word unsatisfied more than maybe i'll agree with you
=p
i agree the phone has many shortcomings, but i didn't expect a fabulous device... i didn't look forward to the phone either, i looked forward to android... for what its worth, i don't like the phone much either but having android on it is what prevents me from returning it... just some food for thought...
i'm sure one of the other major cell phone carriers will make a very nice android based device in 2009, but theres no telling what kind of bloatware will be loaded on it... yes its open source and you can do pretty much anything you want to it, but so can corporate developers... be weary

What that phone good for really?
Open source OS will never have the same quality expectation of the non-open source ones. Google has a reputation of living on beta service for eternity. T-mobile will refuse to back down because they put a lot of investment in this phone. Geeks (i.e. the developers) probably never used windows or any systems common to normal people.
So dont expect much when you a G1. Its just a phone that does a bit of the normal stuff and a bit of the smart stuff.
