How do I reformat my SD card?

This may be a stupid question but I would like to know how to reformat my SD card. Do I have to take it out of the phone and put it in my card reader or plug the phone in? I would like to use some internal phone function to do it if I can. Thanks

You can't format the SD from the phone itself. Either plug the phone into your PC (don't forget to select the notification on the phone to mount the device) or use your card reader and format the card with your PC. Make sure you use FAT or FAT32 as your file system type.

I dont see the notification. All I see is unmount SD card.

when you plug your phone into the pc you will get a little icon in your notifications bar pull it down and click it then click mount.

Is that a change from one of the updates? I remember back on RC19 that there was some other setting you had to enable to allow connection via USB or something.

I'll be darned if I can find that setting now!
