I've had this question on my mind and my friend explained it in a difficult way to understand (cause he is a freakin super nerd) but anyways, I heard you can have Gmail on the phone, but can you link your tmail and yahoo mail so you recieve your emails or what? He told me something like you can through a app but that each time your email updates it takes up memory or something.

There is NO way to use your Tmail (T-mobile Sidekick) address on your G1. Period.

You CAN use the 'forward all e-mail' option inside Yahoo! Mail and put your Gmail address as the forward-to address.

You can also forward your Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, etc to your Gmail by logging in your Gmail account and click on "Settings" and then click on "Accounts" then click on "Add another mail account"

lemme get this straight, im hearing from a lot of people that you cant delete your emails on your gmail app on the phone. Is this true? If so, how the hell do you delete your emails to make sure they dont keep pilling on and on to where you have no more memory? Is this the same with your text messages? that you can delete them?

Spam that gets forwarded from another e-mail account will get filtered through the GMail spam filter, which is VERY good. I've never missed a message that was intended to get to me, and I've not once received a spam message on my G1.

The phone does not have an "Empty Trash" option.

HOWEVER, you choose which 'labels' from GMail are auto-synced to your phone. The trash label, by default, is only synced to your phone when you explicitly view that label. Once you back out of the label, the messages are deleted from your device, but not from the server.

This is the same with all IMAP services. The server contains the messages, and each client (G1, computer mail app, whatever) syncs the messages when you view them, and forgets them when you view another folder.

You do not have to worry about the trash label taking up space on your G1 unless you EXPLICITLY tell the G1 to ALWAYS sync the trash label.

Correct.

While in the GMail app, go into settings, and go into settings -> labels and select which labels you want to be ALWAYS synced to the device.

For obvious reasons, don't un-select inbox, or you'll never get your new mail.

I HATE Yahoo! mail. It will not allow me to forward my email to another address unless I upgrade to Yahoo! Plus for $20/year. I have had the email address for over 10 years...goodbye yahoo, what a bunch of a-holes.
