When I plug the G1 into my PC, the folder open up with Album Thumbs, DCIM, Media, Music and Pictures. Are all of those saved on the memory card so I can just put it in the replacement G1 when it comes? Or which of those are on phone memory and I will lose?

Also, apps. Not saved on the memory card so the only way Ill be able to put them on the new G1 is to write them down and download them again?

you pretty much are answering your own question..
what ever is on the sd card will stay there.. if you want to check it out get a sd adapter and plug into the pc without plugging the phone into the pc.. and see if same folders/etc come up... (and it should) so far nothing that ive seen other than apps are saved to the memory on the Hardware.

Yeah your going to have to download all the apps again untill they come up with something that will move it to the sd card some day....

Thought I was haha. So basically anything that shows up on my PC in the folder is whats on the SD card and not internal phone memory. Thought and hoped so! So we currently dont have a way of seeing whats stored on the phone memory?

You can access the files using the app "android file manager" but not from your computer

Thanks. Also, when you plug in the USB do you guys just connect and disconnect the cord or do you safely eject it from the PC?

I also just saw the app Bender. Is one better than the other?

the android market has a history of downloads so you shoudl be able to see what you want and not have to write it down... out of the three g1's i've owned already, this was the case for me

The newest version of the Android File Manager can browse the phone and SD card settings (though, there is a bug in the application when trying to go back a folder).

I have both until one wins over the other.
