..I only ask this question, because supposely starting in 09

apps with fees will be in the android market, but what if we downloaded and paid for multiple apps and then we get replacement phones or etc, will we have to pay for the apps again if the apps aren't transfered to our new phones?

wow thats crazy, not to do another comparison but on the sidekicks all our apps automatically switched over to our new devices we got as replacements.. im also wondering if all apps with fees will have trial versions, if not i can see many developers cashing in

lol- the Market can't yet notify me when there are App updates (unless I try to re-install an app); it may be a while before they can catalog our downloads and re-install

...and what about applications from other web sites? There is no way that they can keep track of those.

I think the App store will eventually need to keep track of the phone's ESN to allow re-downloads of purchased software- or setup an account like iTunes does for the iphone.

Not entirely true.

When I went from my sidekick 2 to the SK3, nothing transfered over...at least game wise.

Nah I meant replacements off your phone not upgrades

So like if you had issues with your sk2 and needed a new 1 and tmo sends you 1, once ya sim card is in all ya ringtones, apps, games (which you all had to pay for) would transfer automatically

I was on hold with TMO last night and heard a recording that said any paid apps can be transferred to your new G1. Just ask the rep. Didnt ask though...

nice to know. I just brought back my 3rd G1...had to return it within the 14 day period b/c i hadn't gotten the RC30 update and didn't want to be stuck with a crappy battery.

but then again, i didnt have any paid-for apps. -- I just took pictures with my camera of all the apps i had d/l'd

I have a replacement coming out and the person on the phone said they would transfer automatically within a couple of hours of it registering to the network.

due to the limited memory space on the g1 and not being able to save apps onto a sd card

if we uninstall a paid app because we want to free up some space on our phones for new apps we'll be paying for

will we be able to install the paid app we downloaded at anytime once we uninstall it or will they charge us again to download it

Well obviously no one officially knows that answer, but I'm willing to bet you'l be able to download it again after you uninstall it, without paying twice or more, for that matter.

Can't be that crucial.
