That I never have anything gainful or useful to say? Really. When you have some free time, search for all of my posts. I bet two out of every 60 or 70 actually have some productive content. Other than that, I'm like 2 cents above lurker status. (Lurkers don't have 2 cents to put in)

First step to rehab is admitting that you have a problem. Very Good, you're well on your way.

I would too say that this was a waste of my lifeforce, but I happen to be at work right now walking around in circles greeting people and managing teenagers and we have made under a grand all day...so pretty much anything I read is better than nothing... 5 more hours to go <sigh>

Sometimes exercise seems fruitless at the time, but you really have to look at the long-term value to your health.

Making comments in public forums is something like that too it seems. It’s not always about the last six dozen pointless and distracting comments you posted, but maybe it’s what are you saying and contributing to the greater experience.

I think I was only able to contribute ½ a cent there – share and enjoy.

Did you just call me a Japanese prostitute and not even spell it right?

*sigh*

Well, all this wasted time everyone's complaining about isn't on my shoulders. You all clicked the link to read this thread. You had a choice...

and besides, you're all on an *internet forum*. I can bet a few thousand bucks that there is not a raging dance party going on in the background that you stepped away from just to get a few posts in.

Tee hee. :D

Thanks... no really. Thanks.

Personality is often overlooked on the internet, since either a.) people just don't have them anymore, or b.) it's all text and icon based and harder to find a real identity in people sometimes.

I just try to have fun (and help when I can, which doesn't appear to be often)

Seeing it as I have a G1 and can view the forums on the go, that pretty much means I might have a chance to be at a "dance party" or anywhere else for that matter.

You speak the truth.

Have you ever sat in your office and overheard someone in another cube complaining about how terrible their overpaying job is? THAT'S EAR SPAM!

CHANCE.

Chances are measured in percentages, ranging from 0 to 100.

If you are infact at a dance party, it's probably rude to be on your phone.

Well, I'm good at multi-tasking so you're going to have understand where I'm coming from. Don't know about other people on the forums but I'm just speaking for myself.

how is being at a party and on your phone rude? It just makes you either look...

A.) Important
or
B.) Busy (because all these other cats are losers)

And how exactly does one waste a forum thread? Like as if forums come with limited amounts of threads that you have to use wisely and sparingly? Will the forum unravel if I "waste a thread"?

On the contrary, I think taking some time away from being so ridiculously serious about a little cell phone is probably the most important thing. Some of you act like you're campaigning for 'coolest kid in school'. If 30 seconds of your life is so important that you can't let go of being so damn grave about a cell phone for long enough to giggle then I can truly say I feel sorry for all of the flowers you aren't smelling on your walk of life :)

you're wasting the memory of the entire forum. everytime a thread is created it takes up memory and space that was paid for by whoever is hosting the site. So if it's something useless you're wasting those people's dollars.

Then why did they make an Off Topic forum if it's so expensive?

*edit* Also every time you talk back to me, you're contributing to the "wasted space" that I've perpetrated. The idea of this thread was to be funny, and that's what a few of us are trying to do. You however, with your doom and gloom expense report are completely off point. Technically, YOU are wasting forum space (albeit a couple kilobytes max).

Nothing screams "I'm important" like a man who screams "i'm important" into a cell phone.

Omg, I rofl'd irl!

There was one of those guys at Happy Teahouse the other day. He was so out of place at a tapioca shop that I thought maybe he just picked it out as some place to go where people would actually *hear* him talking loudly on his cell phone.. ya know?

Like "****, my cellphone's ringing and i'm in the car... no one's going to hear me in here! Quick! Get into the teahouse!"
