G1 Installation :(

Sorry if I'm sounding like a big noob right now. Just wondering, when you take out the battery and SIM card slot, and you pull out the back part to put in the battery, do you hear like a crack or something when your opening it? Do you have to use force?

Also, does the battery come pre charged, or do I have to charge it myself for a couple of hours before I get to turn it on?

the batter has some charge in it initially. but you'll have to charge it completely. and i didn't hear a crack but i did have to use a little force...not a lot at all..just give it a good tug when taking the back off.

yea it makes a cracking sound like you're harming the phone, but its aight. just pull it off slow with force.
