Hey guys.. Ok, so RC30 is rolling out quick. I've done got the memo for it about 3 times. However, I am NOT going to update until I learn more about it. I'm reading a lot of people are having internet issues with it, and I don't want to take the risk because I am having issues with the net already with RC29. Now I myself like many other users on this forum are using Tzones Edge, not the $20 extra plan. And basically my phone only works with Edge when IT wants too. (It really is an android!) Like seriously- 5 times out of 10 I get "Internal error! Access is not allowed for this user agent." Then sometimes, it works like a dream. An HTC Dream that is.. (sorry, had a little nerd moment there.)

So, all is that I want to know is if I update to RC30- will that shut my ass off for good from using my $5.99 Edge?

Thanks! P.S. while I was typing this post, I got an update offer. You see what I mean?? Its so tempting! And it kills me on the inside to press "Update Later"!!

RC30 was primarly released to address the root access issue. I doubt it will cause more problems then you already have.

As for all the issues you are having i think you should call Tmobile or you can reset your phone yourself. Just be a little more proactive in resolving your problems.

Hey, I have the G1 data plan and mine works great. I suppose you get what you pay for huh ?

I dont think that message has to do with which version of RC you're running. If that's your reason to not update to RC30. You should go ahead and do it.

My second line is using tzone + G1 on EDGE. It is also getting the "Internal error! Access is not allowed for this user agent." And it is still waiting for any update, currently on RC19. So it looks like they are making changes at the server side and not on the RC updates.

Its not really the issue I have right now that I'm trying to fix. I'm just slowly realizing that tmobile is purposely trying to block all of us edge users out because, ya know, tmobile needs even MORE money then they already have!!

But anyway, is anybody from experience using edge with RC30? And please, no "you should get the G1 plan because your stealing from the company! How can you live with your self??"...

Again, thanks!

Yeah it is on tmobiles side. They made it to where you cannot even activate a G1 without the data plan. But I was just thinking that if I were to make the update from 29 to 30, it would basically help them find me and shut all of my edge ports down. That's what a tmobile dude said at the mall and he was using edge with a G1.. (which I thought was funny)

Alright, I guess what the hell. I will update. If my net goes down, I'm blaming you guys. (Just kidding)

Thanks!

Ok so after my RC30 the internet is working smooth for now.. the phone it self seems a little quicker, and i noticed that when i actually did the update my battery was at 13% and after it rebooted and came back to the home screen the battery jumped to 20%.. so... not bad? i guess its been improved?

my update increased my battery too.

i use edge, but it is through the data plan and honestly i've stopped going through wifi because its quick enough to hardly notice a difference.
