Life after RC30

After the update and a full charge, my gps is great, my battery life unreal, I've benn surfing on this thing for 40 minutes and the battery is still at 100% I'll see where it is after I finish writing this and report that last. Its can only get better guys. Its up hill from here, love ur G1.

Edit: Well soon after I posted this I turned off my phone and went to sleep. Woke up turned phone on batt at 40 PERCENT!!!! 40 PERCENT and right now its down to.....17 PERCENT!!! WTF?

I just got RC30 about 40 min ago. Never really had any battery issues on mine, but I did get even better battery power on RC29 so I hope that RC30 adds some more. I do however no no longer have internet access on my phone after my RC30 update. Tried restarting it 4 times and anytime I try to go to a website I get sent to a page at wipcore.t-mobile.com that just shows some xml strings. :-(

Right after the update, battery still sucked and I got a lot of error messages too, wasn't until a few hours after that I noticed a change. So I say give it a minute. Don't know why it would have a delayed reaction though.

Before the RC30 update, I was running low on space for my apps. I was always around 10Mb and having to constantly clear my browser cache. Since the update, I noticed I was around 40 Mb. Seem the RC30 remove some out dated stuff. Possibly something that OTA RC29 left behind or maybe some core dumps. But looks like it cleared up 30 Mb for me.

I got my update about 40 mins ago (1:30 am) and so far everything is great ... not having any internet issues, or battery issues ... I was starting to think I wasnt going to get an update, haha :P

i got mine about the same time too first update ever....i switched on my wireless went to go to a site then all the sudden "update available", and its good i noticed some stuff, now it always shows the "E" with the incoming outgoing arrows and ive noticed a lil better battery life with updates rc29 havent had 30 long enough to tell yet

well i had RC19 when i first got my phone .
-battery sucks.
- didn't have that dial thing during calls
- browse or on edge or wifi.. battery drops QUICK!

then today i updated to RC30
battery was much better
i didn't even have to charge it the ENTIRE day!
when i had RC19 .. i had to charge it during the middle of the day even if i didn't use it.

My battery got better, Lasts a whole day now.

I think it deleted my WEP keys though cause i had to reenter one of em.

Anyone else have this problem cause it happened before and i dont remember if it was after RC29 or not.

got mine this morning, I had already noticed better battery life with RC29, hope for better with RC30! No issues with my WEP keys and I have two of them, one for work, one for home. All seems fine on internet access, all in all it seems fine.

Leaving my phone on all last night with just 3g on dropped it from 100% to 90%. That's not too bad.

Just updated to RC30, I haven't had much time to lpay around with it a see what has changed, however I have noticed that my market app is now up to 10mb and keeps growing? I wish this was fixed in the update

Got my update this morning around 8ish... no noticable difference just yet, but i'm watching for it...

I also like on RC30 now on the notification bar you have more than one download going on from the market it now shows just one icon with the number of downloads in a red circle, instead of all the download icons lining up on the bar. Minor thing but better.

STILL no internet on EDGE though for me, G only. :-( Even after a hardware factory reset and confirming that I had net access with Tmo.

just received the update 5 min ago, the only diff i've noticed so far is when i plugged it into the computer, the phone would tell you u're on usb connection and it'd ask if you'd like to mount the device.

okay had the rc30 update for about 2days... battery life is a little better..
but has anyone noticed bluetooth not being able to connect to headset, having to reboot to fix the problem?

If you got the rc30 update, HARD RESET YOUR G1!!!!!!
I know it sounds crazy or that there's a lot of stuff your gonna lose, but its worth it...
My g1 is faster, doesn't lag when changing apps.

Also to redownload apps just go to my downlaods ( give the android market time to load the agreement and then give it about a minute, then all of your previous downloads will show in my downloads. )

My battery life is worse with the new update.. Plus my phone could not read my sd card.. Luckily the card worked after I removed and replaced it.. Other than that, I have noticed nothing else..

Hard reset the G1 using the Home+End key boot, following by Alt+W?

u can just choose factory reset from the setting, sd and phone storage in the menu on the phone... my internet has been faster ( pages loading better ), switching task and apps has been faster.
