T-Mobile offers messaging plans. They plans don’t include email since email is considered data. I think the unlimited text plan is 14.99 for individual plans or 19.99 for family plans.

I'm confused. Are you saying that your phone has no service, ie zero bars of signal?
If that's the case, you can't send SMS, no matter how hard you try.

any help is appreciatedYou can use email to send sms messages, though it is not as convenient. You need to know how what carrier a given phone number is on and how to email to that particular carrier. My son is doing this now. The biggest drawback is that they cannot SMS him this way, only reply to his messages, which comes back to his email. (He can receive SMS messages, but each one received and sent costs him 1/4 minute. Not too bad, IMO.)
Here is a thread I started with some more info:

My son is also hoping to see a full VOIP version of Skype come along soon. Right now he's limited to Skype and SkypeOut on his laptop. I have trouble imagining that will NOT make it onto the Android platform, but we'll see.
Good luck!

How can you be dippedinsauce with no data plan my friend??!! You are not close to being as cool as Mac Dre with no data plan, please ebay some items and do yourself the favor of purchasing a data plan, it costs as much as a couple meals out to a fast food chain. Hope u get a fix soon, let me know if you do!
