Is a Class 4 microSD card fast enough for the G1?

I want to buy a 8GB microSD card. Is a Class 4 speed card good enough for the G1 or will a Class 6 be better? If its overkill for a G1, its no sense in spending more money.

i might not be correct but if its a 8gb card it should be ok to fit the phone...I mean its not like the 8gb cards have been out that long anyways...they should be able to work with any hardware

8GB works fine in the phone, thats not my question. SDHC cards come in speed classes, Class 2, Class 4, and Class 6. I know that high speed cameras need the Class 6 cards, but does something like the G1 benefit from a Class 6?

BTW, 16GB cards work fine in the G1 also, they are just a bit pricey right now.

I run a Kingston 8gb class 4 card with absolutely no problems at all.

i've actually been using a sandisk 8gb class 2 that i had laying around, and it works fine. no lag or choppiness at all when viewing videos

I use 8gb Class 4 everyday. No issues.

The 1gb that came with your G1 is only a Class 2

I'm using a 8GB Class 6 with NO PROBLEMS.
My mom is using a 4gb Class 4 with NO PROBLEMS.

Well I think Class 6 would be the best if later on in the future there would be a patch that allow us to run apps off the SD Card..

im using an 8GB class 4 atm. woulda got a 16er but they are like £50 over here in the UK ! lolz..

the class 4 is fast enough for now ! :D
