I've just noticed that Android is currently incapable of sending concatenated SMSs that are more than 3 SMSs long. If the message exceeds 3 SMSs (approx 151x3 characters), it converts the message to an MMS.

Does anyone know if there is a way to increase that threshold to only convert the message to MMS if the number of characters in the SMS exceeds 1500 characters?

great question!

i just noticed it created 2-3 messages for me when it was long. Has a little counter.

i've never seen a phone that does this, but google should know better than to do something like this. there are people who do not have mms or know how to set up mms configurations in their g1s, so this is just going to hurt users.
