does anyone know of a way to get around the conversation lumping with G-Mail? I get like 10+ messages with the same conversation/subject in a very short period of time and it is a real challenge to find the last one in the list. I really hate this feature. Other than deleting my mail daily or hourly I can't seem to find a good way to circumvent this.

thanks for any suggestions

I would use pop3 if notifications worked :)

this is another area where the sidekick ruled.. could set it to auto delete and no lumping

thks in advance!

It looks like I'm in the minority, but I absolutely love that feature. It's been one of my favorite things about gmail for a while now, and I was glad it works the same way on the G1.

Just curious - Do you guys who hate this feature, also hate threaded text messaging? Because, to me, it's the same thing.

I love this feature, at the time when gmail first came out this was the "holy crap that is awesome" feature but I guess the gmail noobs don't feel the same way ;)

I don't really understand why you say it's hard to find the last one in the list, because well, the last one in the list is the latest reply in a thread.

I find it a bit rough to read group discussions on the phone where there is frequent postings, that's why I create a label and a filter for those threads so they never make it to my phone in the first place.

Ok, I'm lost. Isn't it as simple as opening up the thread and scrolling all the way down to the bottom? The most recent is always the last one in the thread.

I personally love this feature because I no longer have to scroll through 100's of emails just to find the previous message in the conversation chain. All related emails are in one place.

see that exactly my gripe.. I don't want to scroll through 10+ messages to get to the end only to scroll back up the last message to find the latest reply.

The latest reply has all the RE's in it so if you go all the way to the bottom of the list of messages then you have to go back up to find the last reply.

I just want to open a message and see the last reply right there I don't want to go sorting for it.

Unless you have actually experienced this you won't understand. It takes many messages with many RE's in one message you will see my frustration then.

I guess there is no hope on G-Mail for this one L
