I got my G1 fresh out of the box on Monday. I've read some of the tutorials for installing apps via USB, but for the programming uninitiated, (i.e. retarded) I was completely lost. I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone could direct me to an easy to follow guide involving WinXP, and a G1 using base firmware and software.:D

I haven't used it yet, so I cant 100% confirm that this method works...
But, there is an app in the market called "AppsInstaller". Install that, and then, supposedly, you are able to browse the SD card and install apk packages with ease.

Not sure what you trying to do exactly but just download whatever program you want on your g1 when you click on the notification that the files done downloading it will ask if you want to install it if it doesn't the file you downloaded is no good.

i think they should have it where you can make a folder on the SD Card called Applications and when you are about to download an application, you can select where you'd want to download it.

I was specifically referring to loading downloaded apps from my SD card. Since there isn't a video recorder yet available through the market. There is one available though
