Hi,

I can confirm that OTA updates also comes to people with unlocked G1's. I have an unlocked G1 and my geographical location is Denmark and carrier is TeliaSonera. Just got the RC29 today :) Just to let you guys with unlocked G1's not running T-Mobile, OTA comes to you also, just be patient :)

Yeah, Google sends out the updates, not the carrier.

Ok, I am a little confused about this. How are Google sending out the updates if not via the carriers network? This being the case how does someone in Denmark who is not even on T-mobile get it ?

Probably got it from eBay. Im not positive on how OTA works but what i would do would have the update code check for the update on the server every day or something and if that phone is allowed to have it, the server sends the device to the right place to get it. if not its just a blank page that does nothing.
