View Full Version : Screen lags when you slide open the G1?
Anybody else having a slight 1-2 seconds lag to display anything when you slide open your screen? When the phone's screen is off and I slide open the screen, nothing shows up until 1-2 seconds later. The way I have been coping with this is to press the "menu" button first before sliding the screen. When the screen is already on and I slide it open, it's fine. It's really annoying and I'm just wondering if anybody else is having the same problem.
I tried searching but failed in trying to find a problem similar to mine. If I missed it somehow, would someone kindly link me to the correct thread? Thank you.

LOL! It's just loading, it's not really a problem. I know exactly what it is, most phones do this aswell like sidekicks. If the screen is completely off and you skip exiting the safescreen and just open it of course it has to load. Don't be impatient!

the phone is in standby mode when the screen is off. relax. even a modern high end pc is not going to instantaneously WAKE UP! the minute you move your mouse in standby or hibernate. it's normal. just like warming up your car in the winter. is it really "that annoying" to wait 1-2 seconds? there are so many other things this phone needs-stereo bt, better battery etc. believe me. it's normal and you're not going to find a solution.

it's rude to wake your g1 up while it's dreaming of his soon to be g2 girlfriend .

Haha, thanks for all the quick responses!
Maybe I was being impatient, my bad.
As long as there is nothing wrong, I guess I can overlook it.
I should let my baby sleep more~ ^^

I actually didn't notice until you said something.
I thought you always had to hit menu to wake it up.
Cool to know I can get to IMing quick just by opening the keyboard.
Lag or no...I like it.

Its only twice as long as pressing the menu key when the phone is asleep. 1 sec to wake the phone, and the other sec to change the orientation to landscape
