$24.99 Plan does not include Email ??

Im a bit confused, according to Tmobile site, the $24.99 plan does not state "Email" rather just "Unlimited Web Access. I currently have the $9.99 unlimited Family text messaging. Do I need to get the $34.99 plan to use Gmail and POP/IMAP mail?

All Data plans includes Email. Overage texting is rediculous. You pay 20 cents to send it, and the other person pays 20 cents to receive it. 40 cents! Thats if you're not already paying for the unlim. texting.

IM's, emails and texts all count as messaging. So you pretty much go over the 400 messages included in the 24.99 plan in about 2 days. Not sure about the family texting plan.

The only Text/messaging items are SMS's, MMS's and NON-Google Talk IM's (e.g. Yahoo, MSN, AIM)

GMAIL, EMAIL and Google Talk are all Data...

Damn these stupid marketing people trying to change meanings of technical terms. Email IS data and should not be treated otherwise.

Now that is out of the way, I've had the $25 plan for 4 days now and have sent/received quite a few emails on my phone. And I just checked my text usage. It hasn't changed a bit. Maybe $25 includes unlimited gmail, but other email services are limited.

This was a big factor for me when I decided to purchase the G1. I was told by the T-mobile rep that e-mail does not count towards the 400 messages, and is unlimited in the data plan.

We also have the $9.99 unlimited family texting so I expect that to cover texts does that also cover I/M or is that separate (not that I use it much)?

I thought it was extremely confusing trying to figure out exactly what is covered.

I dont even think its the marketing people. I jsut think its a lack of training. Sometimes when the CSR's dont know the data or are to lazy to look it up or ask they just make it up if it seems logical.

This makes total sense. Think about it. If you have no data plan then the only thing you can send is text messages. But if you have a wifi connection your gmail syncs.

Email=data included in your plan you need one of two plans to utlize the G!

IF you text use the $35 plan
If you im or email use the $25

it' a real no brainer.

It doesn't matter. If you are currently on a unlimited text message plan, you can get the 24.99 plan and not worry bout the 400 limited text message. As for emails, rather it is data or text, it wont matter because you will have unlimited data and text. I am on a family plan with unlimited sms/mms, along with my 24.99 data for my g1. It's sa'll good.:D
