So apparently, if you hold the the phone key for 3 secs, you can voice dial by name or by calling out the numbers.

Maybe it's just me, but when i hold down the phone key, it just calls the last number dialed.

Any help?

Same for me too. When I hold down the phone key the 'call log' screen comes up after about a second and then if you keep holding the button down it starts dialling the last number dialled.

There's no mention of voice dialling in the list of apps installed.
Is this a UK thing or have we got some old firmware?

Please help. I need my voice dialling!

I do wonder if and when we will get an update in the UK. I mean why were we on a different version to start with??

Anyone know if UK phones will get any OTA updates at all?

well im we should be getting some sort of update because of the browser flaw (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/234198/google-patches-up-android.html)but who knows when.
Does anyone know if the UK and US build versions have similar changes? as in is the US rc7 the same as ours?

I've received the update and I'm still experiencing this problem (in the UK)! How frustrating?? Anyone got to the bottom of this?

Found this: http://groups.google.com/group/google-mobile-on-android-devices/msg/56803e9a62d45110

Looks like the Google Talk app uses SMS which is why it can talk to other clients. UK version of G1 might not yet have grammars for UK pronunciation...?
