I prefer the body guardz system. It works great

I have the screen protector by Clear Armor. Very, very nice. 19.99 on their website.

Alot of these screen protectors are very thick and while yes they do protect, they also have thiers downs as well.

-Less responsive
-Finger doesnt "glide" accross screen as easily anymore
-Smudges show up more readily.
-The full body ones make the phone look horrid as it add crazy shine to it.

Its all a trade off.

Agree with Nismo on the responsiveness and loss of glide -- as well as not liking how it looks glossy. I think the matte black rubbery finish looks great out of box and wouldnt cover that up for the minimal gain in grip that the whole body cover provides.

But I think that the screen got smudgy both with and without the screen protector, and at least now I can wipe it with a shirt(not some screen-safe microfiber cloth) and not worry about scratching it

I had read that the screen protectors show fingerprints less. Is that not true?

I have an invisible shield protector just for the screen but haven't put it on yet. I still have the original screen cover on that came on the G1 and it doesn't show fingerprints that much.

I just went with Fellowes WriteRight. I've used it for all my phones and iPods. It's decently thin, no noticeable loss of reaction time and my finger glides nicely over it. My T-Mobile store carries it.

Does anyone know if Invisible Shield leaves a residue?

Dont even waste your time getting a screen protector if your that worried about dropping your phone or scratching it then you shouldn't get a touch screen if you can't take care of it.

Yeah accidents happen but thats what warranties are for...

They give you a nice little case for the G1 that takes care of it so what else do you need?

Well, the case they gave me is useless seeing how I hate having things in my front pockets.. And even if I did use it.. its not like it would be in the case 24/7

And the screen protectors don't get as greasy as the glass does from your fingers or your face.

Also I have not purchased the insurance yet, and the warranty does not cover breaks or scratches, only manufactures defects..

I put the invisible shield on mine, I only did the screen and I have noticed that the smudge marks are not as noticeable. My friend just installed full Body Guardz and he HATES it. It is too shiny and just does not look right. I did not notice any difference between the screen on his and mine. Both are nice and responsive.

Thanks.. I don't think I need the full body coverage thingy, mainly just the screen.. But I'd give it a shot if it does not leave any residue..

My main worry is that I had read somewhere that one of the screen protectors ruined someones screen.. Now this was NOT a G1, or one of the protectors the you mentioned.. but better safe that sorry.. :D
