ok so my friend had this cute mms .gif of a monkey taking a picture yet when i dumped into the gphone, it does not allow me to add or send it as an mms, there is no option for .gif's. are .gifs really excluded for right now?

I posted this in the other thread, but I found a solution to this problem yesterday.

This will animate any gifs on your sd card, works perfectly. Best $0.99 app I ever bought off Market.

The phone itself supports the Gif format. However it doesn't support the animated version by default. The reason being is Android doesn't parse the Gif image's slides as an animated clip (no idea why specifically). In apps, we have to basically provide each slide to an animation container and tell it to animate. It's lame but gets the job done.
I'm sure they'll add in a fix for this in a later release.

Apparently 2.2 has a fix for animated gif's.
