I was just thinking, is there a way to set and show the battery status in percentage values on the main desktop?

this would be a great feature; the iphone has an add-in (via Boss Perfs) that allows you to 'tap' the battery symbol to flip it into a percentage display instead of just the green/yellow battery icon. Hopefully someone will dream this up for android.

I don't think so . I wish they showed the % instead of the battery that would be sick.

I used Anycut to put a shortcut to Settings>About Phone>Status

that gives you one click to the battery percentage.

Is it me or is there no audible notification on low battery status? The only type of notification when the screen is off is the red LED at the ear piece or after waking the phone it displays that it is below 15% but I havent heard any audible beep.

I haven't noticed any audible alert either.

^Not good. I mean it really has not caused any trouble with me yet because I can't put the thing down for a second, therefore I am fully aware of the battery level. But if I'm not using it so much, and I dont keep an eye on the battery level, I may be in bad shape because of the short battery life (results may vary on conditioning).

someone can create a widget for this and put it on the desktop
