why my market app is 8MB?

That won't help, my market application also says 8mb, is this thing going to continue to eat up my precious internal memory?

Why the differences? Could it be related to the number of applications we've downloaded or something?

Someone can correct me if I am wrong. But I think the way it works is the more you download the bigger it gets. I think to a certain extent it holds some of the apps and games in its memory. Maybe so apps can be reinstalled if removed without having to download it.
BTW mine is 3MB

You name it, and I've at least downloaded it... The "My Downloads" section is chock full of stuff both still installed and already uninstalled... And I currently DO have tons of apps (as many as memory will hold)...

And my Market app is only 980kb

Hmm... I now have 67 applications installed (not counting, of course, anything that was installed with the phone, like youtube, etc) and my Market app is 2mb... more than double what it was earlier when I had 61 applications installed.

I think a number of these things may be correct, however looks like we definately need some claification. I would assume that there is some info stored internally on the phone that caches our apps we have installed because when an app you have is available in the market and you already have it installed but it is a newer build version or patched or updated version it will install over your old version. BTW my market app is sitting at 5MB.

I have around seven apps downloaded and installed and the Market on my phone is currently at 10 MB. It was 8 MB on Sunday and 9 MB yesterday, So it seems to be gaining 1 MB a day.

yeah somebody needs to figure something out. i'm up to ten. i had a lot of apps but i've uninstalled half and rebooted and i'm still at 10mb. of course this would be much less of an issue if we could download apps to sd card. grrrrr.

I too am losing space. Even after uninstalling apps and rebooting. Got to be a bug in there somewhere. I know I can clear it by doing a hard reset. But why should we have to do that all the time just to claim free space.
