Not sure if this may be the issues but in my Hospital the first time you try to go to a website using their wifi access you must agree to the terms. The device should take you to the agree page but sometimes it does not and you have to physically type the agree link. What I did is that I saved that link to my favorites and once I initially connect then I go to that saved bookmark and it works.

I know now what it needs, flash for G1.

And how do you suppose Flash would solve your Java applet problems?

The java applet allows the Cisco Clean access server to test your device for up to date antivirus, updates, and etc. If you were to install the program it would check your settings and if you weren't up to date on everthing it would only allow you to those update sites. I doubt you will be able to install it on your phone.

Wouldn't that be highly system-dependent, then?
