The lazy mans guide to watching movies from your phone on your tv through your ps3.

1. Download specifically mp4 files from wherever, either a converter or from torrent sites.. easy search "iphone" and browse for videos.
2. Load these mp4 files to your sdcard
3. We all know the g1 acts as a usb device, so when you plug it in to the ps3 via usb it will detect it.
4. Using the ps3 controller, go to videos>android device
5. Open and press trianglle and click view all
6. Every folder of the sdcard will be displayed.... now you can select which mp4 files are there
7. Lay back, charge your phone and watch a movie....mp4 is damn near high def for no hdtc sets.... itts roughlly as clear as the phone...
8. The phone is still usable.... just as if it were connected to a computer

Android and the g1 is a powerhorse....

yeah i was gonna say, wont any USB device do this?
A PS3 version of Gmote would be cool (but quite pointless though)

More of a hassle to pop out sd to me. I've always use'd my phone and my portable drive..

I am however going to benchmark if the same movie can fetch and feed on both displays.

The point is being able to have everything in one place. Thanks for the write-up. I hadn't really thought about doing this, and am not a huge movie guy, but this opens up possibilities that I need to think about.

[QUOTE]No problem citizens of Android Community......

Also you its a just a general tip.... not all versions of the ps3 come with the memory flap... that's only the 60gb ones... so just plug in your phone via usb.

Also one last note, lookup the types of files ps3 supports if you wish to view photos or play music as well.. and you can save to the phone from the ps3 if anybody was wonderng

Do you mean filesystem? Because you could put any file on it within limit. The bundled SD came with FAT16.

nice. I use my 360 to watch my ripped movies (my ps3 doesnt always like to connect to my media server). using handbrake i create a high quality mp4 for my 360 or ps3, and then i create an mp4 for my G1 and for my modded xbox media center. The iphone format works great on SD tv's like the OP said.

if any of you have usb card readers you can also plug that into the usb port of your 360 or ps3 and insert your memory card that way. Just be sure to not insert a microsdhc card into an older sd card reader because it wont recognize it.
