I found the android emulator to have horrible frame rates. I scaled down the resolution, the ram was put up to 2047 etc. The frame rate was still well below 10. Quad cpu, graphics is high end.

I found that if I emulate linux and run the Android x86 open source iso my android project runs perfect.

However it seems the software is very out of date and the project is 1.6, version 4.

My question is: how hard will it be to publish any code I write under this sdk to the app store?

Is there a more current android iso i could run in virtual box?

Also the Android x86 seems to be some sort of tablet and not a phone running 2.2 software.

Would it be possible to install Linux on my machine then run eclipse and the emulator? Would I see better frame rates then?
